February Sketch Challenge

We've got a fun new challenge for you all to play with this month.   If you're new to sketch challenges, the idea is that the sketch is a JUMPING OFF POINT for your inspriation and you don't have to replicate exactly (swap the circle for a star, heart, oval for example).   You can turn it landscape, turn it upside down - whatever floats your boat as long as it looks like the sketch inspired you (no back links to older projects please - the point is to get your crafting!)   Here's Tara's take on the sketch to give you some further inspiration using 4 different backgrounds (1 stamped, 2 patterned paper and one made with die cut scraps, topped with Lawn Fawn Pandas UPDATED 20th February Tara's got a second take on the sketch to share flipping it on its side and using the new Lawn Fawn release - check the main blog for details here.     We can't wait to see how you played with the sketch - whilst we'd love to see products we sell in store, you can use any...

January Colour Challenge Winners

Thanks to everyone who played along in our colour challenge last month - we had some fantastic entrants so it was hard to pick a winner!     We finally settled on the big bold bouquet of flowers created by Lynne - she picked so many of the colours from our scheme and the flowers and butterfly just really popped off the textured embossed background.       Email the store to collect your voucher Lynne.   There will be a new challenge in a couple of minutes so get ready to play along for a chance to win again shortly!

January Colour Challenge

Hello everyone, I've finally got enough movement back to make a simple card so I can kick off this month's challenge!  This month I've selected a colour theme and have been inspired by fashion so the colours are this season's colours for clothing but they work great for cards too! All you need to do is pick AT LEAST THREE of the colours from the graphic and use them on your card.  Neutrals/metallics are allowed in addition but we need to see the colours in the graphic have been the inspiration for you to play along. For my card I wanted to use the new fairytale book themed products just released by Waffle Flower Crafts so picked the red, teal, grey, green, mustard, brown and purple and came up with the card below.   Hope this has inspired you to play along - whilst we'd love to see products we sell in store, you can use any products to play along as long as you use the colours to inspire you.  You have until 11pm on 31st January to play and can play more than once ...

Winter Themed Challenge Winner

Happy New Year everyone - apologies that we're late starting the challenge party for 2025 but Tara got a bicep injury betwixtmas so it's been a slower start to the working year than we'd anticipated!  We hope to get a new challenge up over the weekend once she can do a little more with her dominant arm. In the meantime, we wanted to wrap up our winter challenge and announce the winner..... We went for a really simple theme for December as we know it gets crazy busy with Christmas planning for most people, so we just selected "winter" as a really general theme and we had 12 fabulous entrants!  It was a tough decision but in the end we plumped for one card with lots of layers of wintery elements so we can now announce our winner was Claire R with this gorgeous creation!     We're sure you'll agree it was a worth winner - we loved the snowy background, and all the little details like the reindeer wax seal!  Great job Claire.   Please drop an email to the ...

December Winter Themed Challenge

As everyone gets busy in December, we thought we'd make the challenge really easy to participate in - we have a theme this month - WINTER.  Any winter themed card goes - Christmas, snow scenes, winter birthdays - as long as it says "winter" in some way, then it works this month and its a good excuse to boost the Christmas card stash too. Tara's made two different cards to meet the theme this month - indoor and outdoor.  For her outdoor card Tara's given a soft frosty feeling to Concord and 9th's Alpine Village die set .  One die cut of white for the background with some light inking and a few tiny details.  The sentiment  is from Colorado Craft Company's White Christmas set - this could be Christmas, a winter birthday or even a winter anniversary with the walking couple holding hands.  For her second card, Tara took winter indoors with a fireplace dressed for winter.  The Fireside die from the Greetery is the base, decorated with elements from Hung W...

November's Christmas Bingo Challenge Winner

Thanks to everyone who played along with our bingo challenge last month - we hope you had fun! We had 7 lovely cards to choose from and you can see them all here if you missed them. It seems the snowman and snowflake line was quite popular and we really thought snow people 2 were really jolly and brought a smile to our faces so Cards by Chris (who also entered card no 1 jumpers) was our winner this month.   Here's a bigger view of her happy card in lovely contemporary blue and pink colour combo.   Thanks for playing Chris - drop an email or DM to the store to claim your £10 voucher! The December challenge will be up shortly and we really hope we'll get our participants into double figures this month!

November Challenge - Christmas Bingo!

A little late starting this challenge this month but hopefully it's a nice open one and with a Christmas theme we hope you'll be encouraged to join in and add to your Christmas card stash!  This month we're giving you a Christmas Bingo card and like all Bingo games there are prizes to win!     All you need to do is pick a line - any column, any row or corner to corner and feature the 4 items in your line on your card.   So you could create: a card with an embossed frame, feauring an angel in red green and gold.    a square card with snowmen on a white embossed background.    baubles in pink, blue and silver on a stencilled background with an embossed sentiment.    You get the idea...... Here's Tara's take on the challenge to kickstart the challenge this month.   Tara went for the bottom row as her bingo line and used the new Snowflake Cluster Die from Waffle Flower Crafts, simply die cut twice and a little bit ...
