November Challenge - Christmas Bingo!

A little late starting this challenge this month but hopefully it's a nice open one and with a Christmas theme we hope you'll be encouraged to join in and add to your Christmas card stash!  This month we're giving you a Christmas Bingo card and like all Bingo games there are prizes to win!     All you need to do is pick a line - any column, any row or corner to corner and feature the 4 items in your line on your card.   So you could create: a card with an embossed frame, feauring an angel in red green and gold.    a square card with snowmen on a white embossed background.    baubles in pink, blue and silver on a stencilled background with an embossed sentiment.    You get the idea...... Here's Tara's take on the challenge to kickstart the challenge this month.   Tara went for the bottom row as her bingo line and used the new Snowflake Cluster Die from Waffle Flower Crafts, simply die cut twice and a little bit snipped off so it could be added to fill the square ba

October Sketch Challenge Winner

Apologies for running late with everything this month - I need to set a reminder to keep on top of things as there are a lot of things to hold in your brain when you run a small business just between 2 people! We had 9 brilliant takes on our sketch challenge last month - and it looks as though lots of fun was had interpreting it.  I had lots of fun hopping around and looking at them all in more detail today before picking our winner! And our winner this month, who get's a £10 voucher to spend in store is Caroline - we both thought the use of the hands from Concord and 9th's Handmade Holiday Dies was a genius take on the triangular shape in the sketch.   Congratulations Caroline - drop an email to the store to claim your prize. We're looking forward to seeing everyone's take on our new Christmas Bingo challenge this month so do get your Christmas stash out and get making!

October Sketch Challenge

This month we have decided to give you a sketch challenge to play with for a chance to win £10 to spend in our store. The sketch can be a card, a scrapbook layout, a paper based gift, anything you like as long as the sketch is the jumping off point for your inspiration.  You can rotate the sketch too so if you'd rather play landscape than portrait, or if you want the triangle at the bottom and the circles at the top - then that's fair game too.   You don't need to interpret the shapes literally - see Tara's make as an example of what you can do with the sketch.  We just need to see that you started with the sketch as inspiration - new makes only please, back links won't be accepted. You have until noon on the 31st October (GMT) to play along and we'll remind you as we go through the month and we hope you'll find it a fun sketch to work with. Whilst we'd prefer to see products we sell in our store used in this challenge, it's not a requirement for ent

Shades of Autumn Colour Challenge Winner

Thanks to everyone who played along in our shades of autumn colour challenge last month - we had some fabulous entries and have enjoyed catching up on them all this morning so we can pick our winner which was tough. We've settled on the following stunning wreath card by Inkami - we loved how they used all the colours in the challenge to create the wreath and really thought it popped.   Do get in touch Inkami via the store email to claim your £10 voucher to spend in store. We'll be launching a new challenge for October later so check back to see what that will be and play along for your chance to win £10.

Challenge 2 - Shades of Autumn

Hello everyone, and welcome to meterological autumn (it starts today in the UK at least).  We thought a suitable challenge this month would be a colour challenge using shades of autumn as our colour palette. Tara created a colour palette of 9 colours and to enter the challenge you must use ONLY shades from this block (you can include black and white and use glitter or metallics which match the colours too - ie gold is good - silver not)   You must use AT LEAST THREE COLOURS to enter the challenge. You do not have to use autumnal themed products in your challenge makes, although you may if you choose - you can go Christmas, birthday - anything you fancy - just use 3 colours and take it where it leads you. Tara challenged herself to use as many of the colours as possible in her make to kick the challenge off.  She used the Autumn Inlay Die from Concord and 9th with a navy background and then pieced in the leaves and acorns in the other shades.  From that she double-die cut the finished

Inspired by The Olympics Challenge Winner

Thanks so much for everyone who played along in our first challenge on this new challenge site supporting Seven Hills Crafts papercraft store.   We loved how you all interpreted the challenge and we had some stunning entries but there was one clear winner this month as Vicki Ruta, aka thecraftacularcreator over on instagram created a brilliant series of cards featuring Lawn Fawn's mice taking on a whole host of Olympic sports and we thought they were all super cute and a touch of genius! We hope you agree - you can see all her cards with the red squares around them in our gallery shot below. Vicki - contact us using the online form on the store to claim your £10 store voucher for winner this month's challenge. For everyone else - keep an eye out this afternoon for launch of the suitablly seasonal September challenge for your change to win next month's £10 voucher. Happy Crafting! Tara & Rick

Our First Challenge - Inspired by the Paris Olympics 2024!

Hello everyone and welcome to our new challenge blog.  I love to get creative and I know our customers do too, so we've set up this new blog to host a monthly challenge where we will set a paper craft challenge each month to spark your creativity - we may even offer prizes to the best projects if we get enough people playing along! For our first challenge which will run until the end of August 2024 we've selected a "be inspired by" theme.  I often see some random object, or something on TV that sparks a creative idea for a card so I love an inspired by challenge.  This week I was inspired by a costume at the olympics so I've decided this month's theme will be " be inspired by Paris 2024 Olympics " You can take this theme in many different ways - be inspired by a specific sport, by an eye-catching moment from the opening ceremony, colours in the team kits, shapes and colours in the arenas, a specific location like the Palace of Versailles, the mascot,
